Jean Blackwell '76
Jean Blackwell '76 serves Cummins, Inc. as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Cummins is a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems.
Blackwell joined Cummins in 1997 as vice president and general counsel after a distinguished career in the legal profession and Indiana state government, during which she served as Indiana's budget director.
She became Cummins' chief financial officer in 2003, and was named executive vice president in May 2005. She also has served as vice president of human resources and vice president of Cummins' business services during her tenure with the company.
Blackwell, an Indianapolis resident, earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the College of William and Mary in 1976 and graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1979.
She was named to the "WomenWorthWatching" list by Diversity Journal in 2005. Blackwell has a long career of community and professional service, and currently is a board member of the Phoenix Companies. -- Source: Cummins
