Henry Wolf '64, J.D. '66
Henry C. Wolf '64, J.D. '66 retired as vice chairman and chief financial officer of Norfolk Southern Corporation on June 30, 2007. He had served as chief financial officer for more than 14 years prior to which he served as Vice President - Taxation (1991-1993); Assistant Vice President - Tax Counsel (1984-1990); General Tax Attorney (1976-84) and Senior Tax Attorney (1973-1976) in a career that spanned more than 34 years with Norfolk Southern.
Wolf serves on the boards of AGL Resources, Inc.; Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. and Shenandoah Life Insurance Company. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of the College of William and Mary and the Board of Trustees of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
He began his career as a captain in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, followed by service as an attorney with the office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and as an attorney-advisor to Judge Irene F. Scott at the United States Tax Court. He commenced his railroad career with Norfolk and Western Railway Company in 1973 as a tax attorney. Mr. Wolf was an adjunct professor at Roanoke College from 1975 to 1990.
Wolf is a graduate of the College of William and Mary where he received his B.A. in 1964 and J.D. in 1966. He received an M.B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1970, an LL.M. from Georgetown University in 1973, and completed the Harvard Advanced Management Program in 1992. -- Source: Norfolk Southern
