It's all about you Class of 1979!

As is our tradition for our reunion weekend, our class will have special time together on Friday night. With consideration that the parade is now on Friday afternoon winding through campus, a mixer exclusively for our class, with light snacks, wine, beer and refreshments will be on campus and near the parade route, from 6:30 - 9 p.m. inside Swem in the recently built Special Collections area. I thought you might like this for two significant reasons.

As you may recall, we gave our 1979 Senior Class Gift, the largest at that time, to Swem Library. Also, as you may recall, Chief Justice Warren Burger announced his gift of papers and personal items to the College during our college years. So, in recognition of our special relationship to our library through both events, Swem has given our class a unique opportunity, to have our Friday mixer inside the first floor area adjacent to the recently built Special Collections wing and to have a private tour inside the Special Collections with the staff (from 6:30 - 8 p.m). Staff will guide you through some of the gems of our remarkable collection. Also, you will see the restored office of the late Chief Justice Warren Burger erected in the separate space inside. Please join our class for a unique opportunity that most alumni do not get to see since the staff of Special Collections are giving us "after hours" private time.  Grab your supper before or after our Mixer but try to arrive in time to enjoy our exclusive event.
